Daf was built in Holland.
They were a unique motor car in that they had Variomatic transmission. It was a belt drive transmission with a centrifugal clutch. The engine was 1100cc supplied by Renault

The company was taken over by Volvo during 1975 and the Daf 66 became the Volvo 66

Daf 55

The car pictured left is the same as the model I owned in London.
I drove it whilst working for DHL Couriers. It was a left hand drive import from Holland and was great for negotiating the narrow streets of London's West End as I could get close to the sidewalk.
